The River Ridge Condo Unit Owners’ Coalition (“Coalition”)
is committed to implementing reform and transparency with our Association’s governing body
as well as encourage Unit Owner participation and awareness.
The recent harmful business decisions and unprecedented actions of the current Board of Directors have proven to the Unit Owners that the Board is disconnected with its constituents. With its Recall Petition, the majority of the Unit Owners have already demonstrated that the community desires that the current Board’s poor leadership be terminated. Due to the escalation of recent events, the Coalition recognizes the need for urgent intervention and crisis management.
The Coalition is not opposed to, and in fact, highly supports necessary repairs and enhancements that will maintain and improve our beloved building, which is our shared home. The Coalition believes that the principles of Transparency, Governance and Fairness should be paramount in how our Association is governed and managed. To this end, the Coalition is determined to recall the current entrenched Board of Directors and to provide the unit owners with the opportunity to elect an inclusive and highly qualified Board of Directors, who will represent the diverse needs of our community.
To achieve this end, the Coalition advocates:
-
Recall the Entire Board of Directors
-
Amend the Bylaws to impose LIMITS on the Board of Directors’ authority
-
Amend the Bylaws to reinstate the Board of Directors' ability to issue special and emergency assessments
-
Amend the Annual Budget to reflect only actual and necessary operational costs and commitments
-
Carefully review the scope and costs of any façade restoration project so that the focus is on needed repairs
-
Seek and obtain third-party financing that will enable unit owners to pay their proportionate share of any major restoration project with more reasonable payment amounts stretched over a longer period of time
-
Establish term limits on the Board of Directors to avoid future entrenched leadership
